Copa America Finale

By the time Europe wakes on Monday morning, the 2011 Copa America winner will have been crowned. That's right that tournament that you wanted to follow but couldn't stay up for has reached its climax and has been unpredictable to the last.

If you missed the early stages all you really need to know was Mexico surprisingly were eliminated before the Quarter finals along with Bolivia, Costa Rica and Ecuador. Colombia were setting the tournament alight and Brazil and Argentina stuttered into the Quarter finals.

Host nation Argentina were knocked out on penalties by old enemy Uruguay and Peru caused the surprise of the tournament by knocking Colombia out 2-0 in extra time. Venezuela knocked out personal tip Chile 2-1 while Brazil imploded in their penalty shoot out against Paraguay by missing all 4 of their penalties.

Parity was restored in the first semi final with Luis Suarez scoring twice as Uruguay beat Peru 2-0. The other semi between Paraguay and Venezuela had been a group match which ended in a 3-3 draw. There was to much riding on this match for both teams and after extra time with the scores still 0-0 penalties were needed to separate them. Paraguay won the shoot out 5-3 to set up a final showdown with Uruguay.

If Uruguay win they will have won a record 15th Copa America.
Paraguay have made the final without winning a single match inside 90 minutes in the tournament so far.
A draw in 90 minutes and a Paraguay win is my prediction.
