Last season was probably the tightest on record. Games became to difficult to predict and while it proved a nightmare for pundits and experts, for the genuine football fan it was fantastic. However I fear that could be about to change with 4 separate leagues being fought out within this seasons Premier League.
Starting at the top and I don't see anybody finishing above Manchester United this season but Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City should finish in Champions League positions. Fighting all the way for Champions League football will be Arsenal and Tottenham but I feel both will fall short.
Arsenal and Tottenham are joined by Everton, Sunderland and Aston Villa who will all be trying for Europa League spots. The London clubs should have enough about them but things have been quiet at Goodison Park this summer so injury permitting I'm expecting Everton to buck their usual trend and get off to a good start to the season.
The next little mini league is to decide who finishes 10th and in comfortable safety zone. These include Fulham, Bolton, Stoke, West Brom and Newcastle United. That is assuming Joey Barton stays and if he goes then Newcastle will find themselves in the 4th mini league for relegation struggle.
The teams that I feel are going to struggle most are the 3 newly promoted clubs QPR, Norwich City and Swansea City along with Blackburn Rovers, Wolves and Wigan. If Wigan can keep Rodellga and N'Zogbia then Premier League safety is assured but as both may go I worry for Wigan's safety. I also feel Blackburn could be made to rue sacking Alladyce and probably one of the new clubs. I'm here for a reason so if it was my money I'd go with Wigan, Blackburn and Norwich to go down.
That's that then now I can enjoy the season unfold and see how close these thoughts were. As long as the football is entertaining that's all that this football fan really wants.
