Premiership North vs South All star match.

I conversation cropped up the other day after an all star game. The debate was whether or not such a match could be played in England and whether or not this fixture could replace the Community Shield.
After some thought and research I have reached the following conclusions.
First such a match could take place and be renamed something like the Premiership All Star match. There is no reason why this match should not benefit charities or communities though and to underline this the teams of 18 could be picked by the public.
Could such a match exist in the Premiership though. Last season there were 11 teams you could place as northern and 9 southern. For geography and balance we draw an imaginary line placing the Midlands and Wales in the South section. Please note that we are not carving the Premiership up just for the notion of a north vs south game these are who last years clubs were eligible for.

North

Manchester United
Manchester City
Newcastle United
Sunderland
Everton
Liverpool
Blackburn
Bolton
Blackpool
Wigan
Stoke

South

Arsenal
Chelsea
Tottenham
West Ham
Birmingham
Aston Villa
West Brom
Fulham
Wolves

please note that this season all 3 promoted teams would be eligible for the Southern section making 10 teams each to choose from.

Here is 2 possible 18 man squads from the 2 sections last season.

North

Hart,Huth,Vidic,Kompany,Baines,Samba,Meireles,Adam,Nani,N'Zogbia,Barton,Nolan,Yaya Toure,Rooney,Hernandez,Tevez,Rodallega,Gyan

South

Cech,Ivanovic,Hangeland,Cole,Terry,Parker,Wilshire,Gardner,Bale,Dempsey,Young,Downing,van der vaart,Malouda,Van Persie,Bent,Odenwinge,Drogba

So there you go that's what is possible and I think the idea has merit. One voice needs help so discuss with your friends and pass the word.
